5 Steps to Write an Efficient Blog

When it comes to blogging, every newbie has tons of questions in mind i.e how to write an effective blog? How to grab audience attention? How to create backlinks and rank on Google? etc.

A lot of time of beginners is spent on searching such type of content on the internet. To be honest, blogging is just like swimming. If you want to learn swimming, every expert around you can tell how to get into the water and how you can survive by following the instructions but you cannot become expert to it by just having familiar to the rules, you have to dive into the water to get experience. These experiences will make you to get familiar to the obstacles and to improve your skills, same applies in case of blogging.

Following some simple and important principles like selecting a topic and targeted audience, you have to write high-quality related content in order to get the targeted result. Besides the high-quality content, well-structured presentation of content is also an important ingredient to catch the audience towards the blog and rank on Google.

There are many other factors which also influence our blog such as page speed, internal linking etc but we will not discuss it by this time as our main goal is to look upon the ingredients of blog writing.

I will break this into the five steps.
  1. Planning and Selecting the topic.
  2. Selecting the targeted audience.
  3. Collect and Draft the Related Content.
  4. Re-write the content with proper headings and sub-headings.
  5. Add the images to the content.

Planning and Selecting the topic

The first and the most important step in writing an effective blog is planning and selecting the topic as it leads to the base of our blog. As you know, building strength depends on its base, so we should be we careful in this regard. The topic should be attractive as it is our first card to grab the attention of the audience.

While selecting the topic, you should focus on
  • If you have seen someone making money, it does not mean you also have to write about the same topic if you want to earn.
  • You should avoid writing something about which very few people are passionate or people are less interested. 
  • If you have minimal knowledge about a topic, it does not mean you should write about this because people are interested in it.
  • Your blog should have a focus, so you should avoid writing about too diverse a range of subject.
Your topic should be in the form of query which increases the curiosity of the audience to seek information and they tend to move to your blog.

Selecting the targeted audience

While selecting the topic, you should consider the targeted audience. Targeted audience means people finding your blog content helpful. If you do not keep in mind the audience, you will definitely lose the obsession and that will result in having weak content and losing the audience.

People will leave your post immediately after visiting it and gradually they will stop visiting your blog. So, if you want to earn your name in this field, then you would have to select the targeted audience with high-quality content. It will definitely help you to know what type of content you should create. It will help you to become versatile in selecting the topic. If you have a large number of subscribers, it does not mean you have gotten the success until a majority of them are active. 

Collect and Draft the Related Content

Once you are clear about the topic and the audience, the next step is to collect and draft the high-quality related content. If you fail to deliver the good content, people will hesitate to come to your blog and I know that hurts the most.
The content should have the power to grab the focus of the reader. It should realize the readers that if they do not read it, they would definitely miss some beneficial content.

For this purpose
  1. Your research should be proper.
  2. You should be clear about the content that you are going to provide the audience.
You should draft the each and every important point that you think should be delivered to the people.

Re-write the content with proper headings and sub-headings

To be honest, you only have 2-3 seconds to catch the reader’s attention and it completely depends on how you present your content. So, you should be very careful about the presentation of the content.

The important points you should consider while re-writing are:
  1. Your content should have proper headings with proper sub-headings. 
  2. The blog should be well structured.
If you have pure high-quality content but your blog does not have proper headings and structure then it would have no impact on the audience, they will hesitate to read it or will leave reading in the middle.

Add the images to the content

Once you are done with the content, now its time to add some related images that will add to the beauty of your blog and will grab the audience attention for you.

There are many sites which allow you to have their images for free such as Unsplash, Pixabay etc. It makes easier to structure the blog and make it attention seeker.

Once you have taken all the above steps then you are ready to post it and to monetize it. I have written this blog for beginners who are a newbie to this field so that they can become familiar to the blog writing.
